CEWAK Indy Media
My son, Marlon and his partner "Earthworm" have devoted their lives to social justice issues. Over the years they've organized and participated in many activities to feed and house the homeless and to encourage public policies that effectively address homeless issues.
They've participated in many peaceful political actions, mostly in support of progressive social policies. Earthworm is an EMT, and both she and Marlon have been active in providing medical and logistical support for many protest actions. Marlon is a longtime, active supporter of Independent Media. Both Marlon and Earthworm have devoted much time to protecting civil liberties and promoting open and evenhanded police work, through their CopWatch activities.
Marlon has been a speaker at many events, on the radio, TV, and in our church to educate about social issues. He occasionally works with ACLU legal staff when legal action is the most effective way to affect public policy, winning several significant lawsuits. Marlon and Earthworm live in Atlanta, Georgia. Below are links representing just a few of their activities:
IndyMedia: Atlanta Independent Media Center: Marlon helps with this website and writes articles for Indy Media.
Cop Watch of East Atlanta: Marlon and Earthworm do a lot of work helping to make this organization successful.
They conduct training and workshops, participate in monitoring activities, and help maintain the website.
Food not Bombs: Marlon has volunteered with this group for many years, organizing many actions to bring attention to the needs of the homeless and those living in poverty, and helping to feed and house the homeless.
